Hello, I've just picked up a 1981 GS850G Suzuki in good running order and have an old CJ sidecar sitting around and wanted some opinions on if the two would make a good rig or not. All opinions and comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of it will depend on your riding style. I boubt an XS850 with a Dnepr sidecar and found it to be too small of a bike for the riding I do. Others I know are happy with sidecars on 600cc and smaller bikes.

I wouldn't plan on riding the interstate with that combination, but it should be good on the backroads.

I think it will make a geat rig. I have a '67 BMW with an R75/5 engine (750 cc) with a very heavy sidecar. The car is a tr 500 that was converted to enclosed. The rig has get up and go for me!

Hello and my thanks to all who responded to my question. The rig will be for my daughter and I really doubt that she will be doing much riding on the interstate.
Thanks again.

I have a gs1000/ velorex and I too like mine very well. It looks like it was made for it.
