This is directed at the people that have actually converted the GL1500 16" rear wheel to a 15" car rim. What is the car tire size you are using? And where did you get it?

The conversions that HT Wheels(Harry Tarzian) does for a GL1500 use a 165r15 (165/80 x 15)tire. These are the same tires we use on our BMW Convesions. They are avaiable locally although many places may have to order them in. I and Harry both have shipped the tires with the wheels but I usually advise folks to check locally first to find a supplier close to home. So far all who have checked have had no problem getting them that way. Prices vary but they shoudl be around 50 bucks or less. Milage between various brands seems to be about the same from feedback we have received. Low has been around 15000 and high a crazy 44,000 miles. I question the 44k but that is what harry said one guy told him. Either way for a 50 dollar tire not bad at all.
HI;Back to this tire thing on the 1500!From what Ican figure out we are looking at many hundreds of dollars for the modified wheel more than Ican justify!Is there any M/C tire avaiable that has a flatter profile like a car tire otherwise guess have to stickwith the conventional M/C tires which we all agreee aren't to good for a SC!
