Dnepr Sidecar help!
Mike is 100% right when it comes to junkyard wheels, etc. I was speaking of a brand new rim laced with brand new spokes. There is lots of used stuff out there that will fit.
Found the bearing that works with the Dnepr hub and axle. It is Timkin #30204.

We convert your URAL & Dnepr swing-arms to accept Harley wheels.
The price is $150.00 plus shipping costs.

What does the conversion entail?
Dusty
Hack'n must not have seen your inquiry so I'll hazard a guess as to what the conversion entails. I'd guess it involves pressing out the old axle and installing a new axle of the proper diameter for the Harley wheel. I don't know what the diameter of the replacement axle is, but it should be at least 1". Less than that and I don't think it will be durable and might be dangerous. I'm relying on a very poor memory, but I think the Dneper axle is on the order of 30mm, or rougly 1-1/4 inches.

I didn't pay attention to the post since it wasn't directed to mine but to the original post on the thread.
Jim's pretty close, we press out the old and press in the new. Sometimes a shim is required and sometimes the swing-arm needs to be redrilled. It depends on which swing-arm is used and what the desired wheel is.
The URAL, Dnepr and the new Velorex axles are 20mm in diameter at the wheel bearings, the Harley axles are 3/4" or about 19mm.
I just lost my in-house machinist so the question is moot at this time.
Hack'n is being generous, and I must have been mixing up handlebar and exhaust pipe diameters with sidecar axle diameters. Now that that brain is temporarily functioning (I think), BMW's wheels, which are also sometimes used to replace Ural/Dneper wheels, use 17 mm axles. Some folks think this is not thick enough for a cantilever axle. 19mm sounds better and might be good enough if the axle is made of good steel. Russian steel can be inconsistant sometimes but failure of 20 mm axles seems quite rare.

We do sidecar wheel change overs. The price depends on the wheel and if there is to be a brake attached.
The stock Ural axle is 20mm. We have some of the new Ural front wheels on order that run a disk brake and once in will develop a brake mount for these.
The stock Ural, Dnepr and Chinese copies run a 20mm axle. Harley runs either a 3/4 inch or 1 inch depending on year. Many Japanesee bikes run 15mm axles however by changing bearins and spacers they can be set up to run 20mm axles. This also works on Velorex sidecar wheels. BMW runs either 17mm or 25mm. Both are the same wheel they just have a different bearing and spacer so a wheel that came from the factory can be set up to run either a 17mm or a 25mm.
How we change the wheels over depends on the wheel. We usualy press the axle out and make a shim for the new axle. Even if the wheel is to run on a 20mm axle we some times have to change axles as the stock axle often is not long enough for the new wheel.
When we add a brake we ususaly go with Brembo calipars, the calipar depends on the wheel as there is not always space with the spokes for some of the calipars we stock.
We also have a good wheel shop that can lace up different hub and wheel combinations. On my own Ural sidecar (attached to a Triumph tiger which can be seen in the off road section of our web site) the axle is a 17mm. The wheel hub is off of a Honda dual sport bike, The rim is an un known used rim that the wheel shop had, the brake rotor is an aftermarket unit and the calipar is a Brembo. This bike also has the electric tilt we can add to the Ural sidecars. And of course we have mounting kits for Ural and Dnepr sidecars.
I hoped this cleared up some questions.

Thyanks jay, i will keep you in mind when the time comes to mount the wheel! As for now I am focussing on paint (Herculiner) and carpeting the tub for my better half...

Thank you! I'm really psyced to start up my hacker ... You have no idea how painful it was patchwork that motorcycle and the pile of parts that came
