Looking for a dark side tire for my 99 HD FLH. I saw this while looking - opinions or options from all you experienced operators Please!

http://store.cokertire.com/500-525-16-excelsior-blackwall-tire.html

I'm not quite ready to replace the Metzler 880 thats currently residing on the rear wheel. But I'm trying to prepare ahead of time since I have to work within my budget.

VLAD, I'll check them out, I'm trolling for info at this point, what works I'm not sure my HD has the room between the swingarm that your Goldwing has but I'll measure both the BF Goodrich and the Excelsior. I'm looking for options, the least expensive option that will work and be safe.

VLAD are you running a tube in that tire? About how many miles are you getting out of the BF GOODRICH?

You might checkout the "car-tire" thread under "General Discussions." It is back about 4 pages, and there is some good information there about 16" car tires and links to some sources for a 175 16 Dunlop run-flat and a Formosa brand that might work for you.

the 500r16 radial that coker sells DOES fit a 07, its so close to the same ht that i cant measure any diff - and its a tiny bit narrower than the stock tire, but wider than the front 130 tire.

bikes that are tight for a 130 probably will require some grinding to get it in there

the 15" converstions will work as those tires are slightly smaller than a 130 tire

OEM tire size is 130/90-16, which works out to be about 5.1" section width. About a 500r16.

With wise 500/525-16 may be ok but it will be taller about 1.75" . I looking for CT to replace 130/90-16 on my Suzuki rig.

So do you use 500/525-16 EXCELSIOR BLACKWALL TIRE?.. How many miles do you have on it so far? What motorcycle? Thanks. Called Coker tire load rate for this tire 74P - 827lb. OK for smaller bikes. It not good for big bikes. Goldwing 1500 Dunlop Elite 3 load rate max 992 lb.

All I can find is 550R16 Excelsior Stahl Sport Radial. It is taller and wider if you use it to replace 130/90-16. Are you sure 500r16 radial from Coker?

YES the web site is BROKEN - it does not show the last size - but its there - the 550 WILL NOT WORK but the 500r16 will - its really annoying that the site does not work right.
