Does anyone know where to find the main bracket that attaches to the Cozy mount? This is the round-flanged 4-hole braket that bolts to a similar flange on the Cozy frame. The universal mounting kit that is available doesn't have this flanged mounting bracket.

I'm not a big fan of universal mounts. I had one fail on me, causing me to cut short a planned 1200 mile trip. I'm also kicking myself for the damage it did to the frame of my bike.

Check with Jay@dmcsidecars.com for what he has to offer. He has a fairly complete list of bike-specific mounts with hack-specific hardware to connect to those mounts.

We just did a Cozy last week that the owner had on her Enfield and wanted it on a Bonneville. She had purchased mounts from a company that claimed that were specific for the Cozy to the Bonneville. They looked like a bunch of Velorex type "universal" mounts that would have in time slipped, allowed for flex and as such would have required a steering damper on the bike. We did not use these. Instead we weled a new cross tube under the sidecar frame with pinch bolt mounts to use our standard "boss and clamp" type mounts. On the front lower we removed the bar that has the round flange on it, cut the flange off and then welded a clamp end onto it so that we could also go with our "boss and clamp" type mounts. In the end while a bit more money and time to do it this way she now has a mounting system that is not going to slip and will work with any of the mounting kits we make.
