compatible parts

The truck with my Dnepr should be here by
Tuesday and I am looking forward to driving the rig the our beautiful mountains of New Mexico. I was wondering if any other Dnepr owners could share some information with me such as good tire pressures, if there are any parts available in the USA that are readily available such as spark plugs (brand and model #), air cleaners (K&N?), maybe even points and condenser, I know some BMW owners of the earlier models used a Chevy point set? Also any service interval recommendations and if all the items they suggest in the manual are really necessary or are they for people using third world oils and riding in third world conditions?
Thanks,

Mel,
One great place you may also want to check is a Yahoo site called 'Dneprheads'. They have close to 900 members there.
On the homepage it says:
>>This is a group for those who own or are interested in Dnepr, Neval, and Cossack motorcycles. Ural and CJ enthusiasts are welcome, also. Feel free to SEARCH OUR ARCHIVES for technical help and parts sources. Check out the links page too!<<
This is a Yahoo group site which means you will have to get a yahoo name and password but that is no big deal. Just click on the link below and go from there.

Oh one other thing. As with all Yahoo Group sites you will automatically receive all of the posts made via whatever email addy you sign up with. This can be quite overwhelming to some. sO...you may want to click on 'edit my membership' and look at the options avaiable. You can get all the emails(posts) one at a time, you can get a daily digest of the emails(posts)in one bunch or you can opt to just go to the site when you wish to look at the posts. I much prefer the latter but some do not.
So, anyhow,we hope you will have a ton of fun with your new rig.

the rig showed up Monday night and the trucker and i reattached the car to the bike. Yesterday I tightened all the bolts that were loose and primed the engine, turned the ignition and it was puring on the 3rd kick. Not registered so just rode around the yard a bit with my dogs barking and chasing me, then put it in reverse and backed into its corner of the barn/garage. Waiting for insurance card so I can go and fight with the DMV folks who will tell me there is no such thing in their computer, so it probably doesn't exist.
As for the yahoo sites, I usually have trouble getting around them, but its probably me.

Good luck on your Dnepr experience. I saw your other post on insurance. That may be the simple part! Many states won'e even title/license one. Hope your experience is better than mine was!

I should have theinsurance papers by Monday and then need to make time to go to DMV, I'll take a good book with me along with all my papers, photos of the rig and $$. Should be all I need, right? But still no answers to my original question.
