Hi
I am pretty new to sidecars and ran into a problem getting the front tire fixed .
I have a 96 Goulthing with an Astro 2+2 sidecar
I need to remove the front tire and am not sure where the best place to place the jack is .
it looks like I will either be jacking up against the engine or the exhaust and I am a little afraid that something might give.
I would just hate to crack the pan or damage the exhaust .
I have a 6x8 plate that would spread the weight across the engine ,but that is still a lot of weight on the pan.Or I can get a longer plate and jack across the exhaust but am afraid of crushing that also .
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Bill

when I'm just lifting the front I put the jack under front lower sidecar mount strut where it meets the knuckle from the bike
I find it to be the best place to get a nice even lift and not stress anything
it's just like using the frame
Don't put a jack under the engine, it can result in damage

Thank you Ace
I would never have even thought about that.
