Hello, We have found a Cal. Friendship III Used. The Owner received it as part of an arrangement and does not ride. They believe it to have the Electric Lean Option. I do not know exactly what to look for to verify this. There is a wire harness, but I believe it to be for lights and possibly intercom. There is a steel braided line that I believe to be for the disc brake on the sidecar. Can someone help me to identify the existence of this component? It was an expensive option that I would very much like to have. If it is not on the sidecar I will probably try to retrofit with help from California Sidecar Company. I just do not want to pay for something that is not there. I have looked at the website, but not conclusive enough for me-I am not sure what I am looking for. Thank you for your help, Bob

Bob,
Look for an electrically controlled screw jack that is connected to the swing arm. That raises and lowers the wheel in relation to the frame of the sidecar for leveling purposes or to trim for road and load differences.

I'm running a Freindship II on my Wing and it has the Electric Lean, a very good option. The electric jackscrew Lonnie was talking about is located just inboard of the rig's shock absorber. It has an electric motor hanging down below what looks like a thin, long horizontally mounted shock without a spring. The power wiring should be clearly visible coming from the motor.

Thanks to all who answered and the good will and advice I find here. The Sidecar has the electric lean option. I am picking it up towards the end of the month. I plan on removing the body for paint and complete clean-up. It has been in storage for a few years- good clean barn-cement floor-dry and covered. I am going to just set it up without body. It was on a Goldwing. Many mounts already have heim joints. Off to Dauntless to get the SubFrame and remaining hardware for our setup. Thanks Again everyone for the Help, Bob Novarino
