Was in the local HD "store" the other day trying to get some oil pump gaskets for my evo, and I noticed a sixteen inch front tire (Dunlop) for a Buell Blast on the tire rack. Was wondering if anyone has run these on their sidecar? It's a Spirit of America sidecar I'm running.
I was going to say that tire will give you great traction when leaning in the curves, but then I noticed you're in Fl. I've heard there is a curve in Fl- do you live close to it?
The Spirit of America and Spirit Eagle both have a very narrow wheel. I doubt if the Buell tire would be a good match for your wheel. You may be better off with a Chensing 6 ply rated cycle tire. The cheaper Chinese tire is better rated for sidewall stability, which the Buells aren't interested in since solo vehicles do not have the sideloading of a sidecar or any other multitracked vehicle. They bank in the turns and have vertical pressure on the tires. Most sidecars as most automobiles, aren't able to do this and depend on tire sidewall stability to keep the tires on the rims, due to sideloading forces.

I do live in Florida where I was born and raised, but I've never allowed any border to cage me. In fact, I will be in your "Neck" of the woods at the end of this month on whatever tire I decide to go with.

Chen shing 6 ply rated is probably the least expensive. For twice as much the OEM Velorex MITAS 3.25 or 3.50x16 sidecar tire is good for lots of miles.

JT- I need to apologize. Sometimes I kid people too much- I forget some folks never thought out the tire thing. From your picture, the tire looks bigger than 16"... Awesome looking rig, by the way. Anyway to get more detail?
No apology necessary...not that thin-skinned. Was spouting back with what I felt was humorous also. Funny how the net tricks ya aint it?
Got the evo tore down at the moment. Rear exhaust tappet roller went south on me so I had to clean out my case and oil pump to make sure none of the needles were cutting my internals. Maybe I'll get some shots of my nasty welds while I have the body off. I have to re-align it all in the morning anyway because I don't have enough lean-out. And it is a 16" tire on it.
