any thoughts on this or anyone done it. i'm wondering if the car will react under braking like squat or raise up or will it just slow down like i want it to. i'm thinking that the tendency will be to turn the axle and seems to me like it will raise up allowing the car to dive. any thought? the side car is a moline with torsion bar suspension and a fairly long swing arm with a shock. thank johnny
My Motorvation doesn't squat or raise but it does make the rig pull to the right if not handled well. My rig has a separate brake peddle mounted next to the bikes brake pedal. Differential braking is possible. If set up correctly the rig goes pretty straight. Some rigs have a brake that works at the same time as the bikes brake ie hydralic or mechanical linkage the works with the brake pedal.
As pretty much every sidecar that has brakes ties the brake to the swing arm. The brake will not cause the sidecar to rise or drop noticeably at all. In theory it might rise a bit but you would never notice.
We have never added a brake to the Moline so have not developed a kit for it. With some information from you we may be able to supply a brake kit for you.
