it can be found at loacl hardware stores or home supply. I get mine from a storm door outfit that makes and sells doors and sells Lexan.

I remember I saw some sort of clear plastic panels at HomeDepot or Lowe's. I wonder if that was Lexan..

Honestly I don't remember what exactly I used, something I had on hand. I cut it to a pattern I traced off the original and bolted it on.

As for the lead weights, they were old takeoffs from wheels and they just gave them to me. Works great. I don't know what year your Velorex is, mine is a 2000 model and still has the smaller axle so it's limited to like around 200lbs I think. That's why I remove the lead when I take a grown up passenger.

Also, I found that taking left turns the suspension on the hack would compress so much and I would lean more than I liked. I got some rubber hose and cut spring spacers for the hack shock. Now I still get spring action but have limited travel and it feels much better in the turns. Passengers report it still rides nice and smooth. One of the best fixes I've made for it.

I currently have the whole rig tore down to the frame (bike and hack) to repain and polish everything up. The bike was a little rough when I got it so after I had everything sorted out and running perfectly I decided to make it look nice. Bike is mostly back together now and I should be painting the gas tank, side covers, and side car tub and fender this weekend.

I know my 750 will pull that thing right up to 70mph in very short order. Works real nice and handles very neutral going down the road. Does not pull at all one way or the other.

Mine is 1990 Velorex and max. load is also 200 lbs.
So I guess it's a good idea to make ballast easily removable. I have no intension of taking adult passenger but I may go camping with my son.

I rebuilt my CB750K several months ago. Just like you I disassembled her down to the frame and painted/polished most of the parts.
She got Kerker 4-1 header, clubman handle, cafe fairing, home-made tail caul.

It seems I don't have to change/add anything on the motorcycle.
That's a good news.
