'81 FLH sidecar set-up
A friend has an '81 FLH and an '82 Harley sidecar that he plans on putting together ... someday. He's telling me that one strut attaches to the swingarm. Is he crazy? If not, how does that work? (Went to Wheels Through Time and was amazed to find that Harleys only attach at 3 places.)

just set up a '98 Harley sidecar on an '02 FLH. struts attach to 2 places on motorcycle frame + the steering damper. yes- he is crazy.
I thought we went over this a couple of weeks ago.
Some of the Earlier shovelheads (Some AMF years) at least had a threaded boss on the rear swing arm for attaching the rear sidecar mount.
In 1984 after AMF and the switch to the Evolution motor the FLT and FLH frames were drastically changed. As were the sidecar mounts.
The frames were changed again in 1995, 1997, and around 2001 I believe.
All of these change years didn't affect sidecar mountings.
The sidecars have remained basically the same appearance but the mountings have changed since the '80's.
