I know there's a couple of you out there... I've been thinking that I'd like to do a compromise between the Euro bars and the American bars. I've heard that the BMW controls won't fit the 7/8 bars- only metric, which I guess means BMW. Others say they're the same size and will work perfectly. Before I waste more money, does anyone know for sure?

Have gotten info from a couple of other sources AND used a waddyacallit...
micrometer?. 7/8" is about 1 1/2 to 2 100s of an inch bigger than 22mm. Just enough to be a pain in the kazoobers...

All the Japanese metrics use 7/8" bars. Maybe the Krauts have a different metric system???
Why not take an inside measurement on your controls and see what the clearances are? They're not as critical as a connecting rod, you know.

Seems like the Germans often have a way of doing things in a way that you can only use their parts. Saw the perfect bars on a '93 "BOXER" yesterday, but don't know where to order them. I'd get 7/8 bars and ream out my controls some, but then if I take the SC off and go to regular bars again, I'll have to shim the controls.
Any idea whee to order Beemer bars? (looked on google already but got frustrated)
