I'd say since you have the sidecar there, see if the mounts fit up on the bike the same way. I've got a '99 chair on a 2001 Roadking, no problem, but it seems to me there are some frame changes on the much newer models.

You are right about some changes, I believe the frame was stretched along with some other mods.......my HD dealer wasn't a lot of help, not surprized since not many folks run sidecars anymore....anyhow, thanks for the reply.

the sidecar will fit - but the mounts will not fit - not even close. not even on the same planet.

you will really NEED a 09up mount kit - 1200 bux last i heard

there really isnt any other proper answer.

the new mount kit contains
a giz that makes it so the bike will start with the kickstand up [and it locks the kickstand up so it wont move]
brake parts
support plate that bolts across the bottom of the frame
rear mount
front lower mount
two bolt upper mount
giz to hold the steering stabilizer
oil pressure switch giz

and you will REALLY WANT a raked tree from one of the various vendors.

other than that it should work find - and the new bikes will hold a great variety of car tires on the rear as they are now large 16" rims

I5 harley sidecar know that you will have to buy a mount kit from Harley Davidson for bike they changed the frames I was going to buy a 1994 sidecar to put my new 2011 ultra and the mount kit was going to somewhere in 1,000,00 range from h,d,. there are some universal mount kits out there but they are flimsy and to small for big bikes

Im going through almost the same issues.. I bought a HD 1996 ultra sidecar and now just purchased a 98 Ultra Classic to mount it to. Even though there is only a two year difference in models things are totally different. The audi wire harness is not the same, nor is the light harnes, and neither is the amp and stereo components in the sidecar. About the only thing that is somewhat the same is the mounting brackets. however, like Tim482 stated there are way more mounting hardware required for a newer bike.

Mounting a 1996 TLE to a 1998 Ultra is actually quite close. The three main mounts and steering damper will fit as is, assuming you have the parts. The cables, however, are a mightmare if there is even one year's difference. While the TLE Ultra sidecar does have the handholds and a nicer seat than the TLE standard, I bought the standard partly due to the difference in price new, but also I didn't see the benefit of the ratio pod and amplifier. It does take up precious legroom for your passenger.

Like I tell all of the others who are left to match odd years of sidecars and bikes, you wil be needing a book. Oh, and if you want parts, you'd better get them soon. It's been a year since HD quit making sidecars and parts and it's quite clear that they have totally lost interest in that former area of their enterprise. Another few years and the sidecar items will be marked NLA (no longer available) by your friendly local dealer. It's no secret that they never understood sidecars nor did they enjoy working on them.

It would be a good idea to get things like brake pads and wheel bearings. Any documentation like a manual and some of the interconnect cables, too. If you have a late model unit 2003 and on, you might pick up a spare rollover protection switch. A spare windshield would be a good thing to have and maybe a tail light crystal and some spring bushings. Those items will start drying up.

You can't even get many Evolution parts from the dealers any more. Harley is making so many changes that spares for older solo bikes are more difficult to locate. Formerly, they would keep making the same parts, year after year but now the changes make for shorter parts runs. Sidecars were a long run but not that many were built so you would want to get parts while they are available since they have now quit.

You've seen what happened to California Sidecars and other companies.
