05 FLHR w/TLE (How do I adjust the parking brake)? Just Found the answer .
First off I do have the service manuals for the FLHR and TLE but neither mentions how to adjust the parking brake??
So far what I have done was to lightly snug down the 10mm adjusting bolt in the center of the parking brake caliper and then back it off so there was plenty of free play but held very well when the brake was engaged.
The main question that I really would like to know is , should I have some blue lock tite on that adjustment nut or is that all I have to do. The rig only has around 4K on it and I just noticed that the brake stopped holding well. The adjustment did the trick but I just want to make sure I did this correctly and if anyone actually has the PDF or copy of the instructions I would like to get a copy if possible.
NEVERMIND 😉 Just found all the info on the Harley USA site.

I guess I'm ok , I really see no reason to disconnect the brake cable to adjust this as I left maxium amount of free play and just enough to hold the bike firmly whan applied. Took the bike out for a few minutes to make sure everything was free.
TIA,
John
I just leave mine in gear. Works great and much less expensive.

Probably but when I bought the rig it was already installed as was the Champion reverse gear. The brake works great and now I how to adjust it, it only takes about 1 minute.

I just picked up a cheap 'parking brake' suggested by a friend who uses one. Parking in gear has always worked well for me too but on occassion, like warming the engine, you might not be able to leave it in gear or be mounted on the bike. The cheap parking brake? A velcroe watch band around the handlebar and brake lever....
