Purchased this last summer, (97Heritage w/113ci S&S) with California Sidecar. I think it's a Frienship 1, but not sure. It does have coil over shock suspension and stabilizer arm. Just can't find anybody close to Augusta, GA that knows much about them... Any help is appreciated.

This is a California Companion (the model that preceeded the Companion GT which is a bit wider and heavier). Produced sometime after 1989.

Great looking rig there, Max! Hope it runs and rides as good as it looks. Many happy miles to you!

This makes me curious, as to why California sidecar has coil over shock on this sidecar, but still used the torsion bar suspension on the Friendship 2, in similar years? Any one have a clue?

With the separate fender styling. It was easier to convert to the more efficient coil over shock. The Companions also were able to run a much larger wheel and tire.

Is there a specific manufacturers sidecar out there that would fit my 2000FLH as well as be compatible with a newer FLH model (most likely a Roadglide?) in the future if I were to get a new bike? Wishful/hopeful thinking right now. :O

Any of the larger heavier sidecars would be compatible, it's the mounts that

would need to be changed. For HD I prefer the looks of Liberty sidecars.

We have several sidecars that work well with the FLH. Our M72C the M72CX and our Expeditions sidecars work well. The Kenna is the least expensive sidecar we have for these bikes.
These sidecar come with bike specific mounts.

Hey thats one sweet rig yo got Mad Max.....and LOTS of chrome too.
David , I like the matt619.....as they said above most sidecars will work its just the mounts change as the bike frame changes..I also like the looks of some of the www.trans-moto.com units specially the Harley factory look unit which ahs the suspension onthe sidecar wheel and not the body. Its all up to your style and pocket book from open air rigs to fully enclosed and everything inbetween
