I will bring the banner for Lee to this event.

Hey Jim, should I not be able to make it to Council Grove, please send it South with J.R. if he's there, as we generally bump into each other 3 or 4 times year.

Sidecars in the Flint Hills is fast approaching, August 26 to 29.
Friday there will be a lunch ride to the Emma Chase Café in Cottonwood Falls for their
VERY FAVORITE meal on any day of the week. The menu will be a Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
with mashed potatoes & gravy, wonderful green beans, roll and butter
and home-made applebutter. That meal sells for $7.95, and they will throw in coffee
or iced tea. They also have fine pie at $2.50 a slice.

The beautiful old stone Chase County Court House is about a 1/2 a block up the
street from the cafe - the massive walnut staircase is the centerpiece of the
courthouse - gorgeous old place. Tours are $3.00 and are scheduled right after our meal.

Saturday Morning we will have a presentation by one of the owners of Bing Carbs whose International headquarters are located in Council Grove KS.

I hope some of you are planning on being there.

Drats -- scheduling will not permit us to make it up this year. Otherwise we'd attempt to meet up with rudy along the way.

Well Lee, maybe someday I'll retire and get to Uncertain. I'd really like to meet you. I know all too well about schedules, I'm afraid without schedules I'd be a mess.

Reporting in Lee, I'm still not unpacked and just found the camera. The weather was perfect and for a little rally in the middle of KS, it was terrific in my books. States represented were KS, MO, NV, CA, NE, IA, TX, OK, AR, IL and CO. The two long distance winners rode 1502 and 1500 miles to get there, imagine that. I try my best to know just how many were there but I'm still not that organized, too busy while I'm doing ten things at once, but I think we might have hit 50 this year. Look for a better report in The Sidecarist after the smoke clears.

i. We were there. Turned out great. Couldn't ask for nicer weather. Big thanks to the CMA bunch that did the games nd generally gave a hand where ever needed. Hope to see a lot more next year. Also hope ton see a bunch of you at Uncertain Oct 15-17. The name comes from the name of the town,Uncertain Texas, not if it;s uncertain if we will have it or not. Hopefull y no flood this year, but this is Texas weather. J.R.

It was a lot of fun, biggest group so far with 50 people registered plus some day visitors. We've had good weather so far with the weekend before labor day, so you can pretty much count on it for next year. I can't make reservations at the campground until Jan 1 though. Watch the events list here too.
