The question came up how does one write a check to "Fly" that he can cash. Actually, his bank accepts that name. In any event, checks to Al Butterfield will work just fine!

The 25th, Al "Fly" Butterfield put on the second Sidecar Asylum mini-rally.
We had eight rigs and twenty five riders in attendance. Regretfully, two (who do
have rigs) had to come on two wheels and some of us had to (GAG!) come on four
wheels. No matter; we had a ball anyhow.

The day started with the mandatory tire-kicking and BS session out by the rigs
then moved to the back yard of the Masonic Lodge where we were holding the
event. Thus began the sidecar games. We held seven games, running from the
blindfolded slalom course to a politically incorrect game of "drive-by shooting"
with a paintball gun, My personal favorite is where the passenger holds the cup
of water over the rider's head while racing to the finish line. Can you say
"drenched"?

After the games it was into the Lodge for a "walk in - waddle out" spaghetti
dinner with all the fixings (though I did question the lack of chianti!) Ah
well, the coffee was excellent anyhow.

Heck of a day and one heck of a deal. For a $10 rally fee we got a hotdog lunch,
the sidecar games, the spaghetti dinner, a Sidecar Asylum - The Sequel rally
patch and a patch and pin from the lodge. Can't beat that for value.

We would like to thank Joyce and Dave Skuzlarek (sp?) for providing two USCA memberships to serve as door prizes for the event. They were WELL received!

Looks like a great time, no matter how you arrived. Thanks for posting the pics Sarge. Sure makes us wish we'd been there laughing along with the drenched drivers. Laughing And I assure you that I can embarrass myself mightily trying to navigate a blindfold course.
