The Fourth Annual Northeast/Southern Maine Sidecar Social will be held on Saturday August 23. The event features a Ride to Nowhere and Back and ends at the Ocean House Farm in Cape Elizabeth, ME for a real Maine Lobster Bake featuring lobster, steamers, corn, and potatoes. The event is open to all sidecars and those curious about sidecars. For those who do not partake of the ocean's bounty, a grill will be available for anyone to cook whatever they would like. The ride details are not set yet, but the ride is usually 40-60 miles. Price for the lobster bake has not been set yet, but will be considerably less money than a stop at your favorite seafood place. For those traveling some distance to the event, trailering or otherwise hauling their rigs, the farm can accommodate up to 8 or so trucks, campers, or what have you. More details to follow.

@michael-lydon Anxious to see the details!  For anyone considering this is a great event whether you make it for the day or make a weekend of it.  Great fun riding with multiple sidecars and you can't beat the lobster bake at the end of the run!!

SAVE THE DATE: August 23, 2025

A big change this year, hoping to get some folks from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and points South and West.
At the suggestion of a friendly hack pilot, we are reaching out to Bentley's Saloon and Campground in Arundel, ME to accommodate those hack drivers (and passengers) who may wish to attend the Social from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and points West and South. Those folks will need to make their camping arrangements with Bentleys. Details will follow. For folks coming from farther north, Ocean House Farm, Cape Elizabeth, ME can accommodate up to 6 or 8 Campers, RV's, or Haulers. Folks are welcome to arrive at the farm any time Friday.
Folks camping at the farm and folks local-ish to the farm, will head to Bentley's for breakfast. Bentley's is about 24 miles (about an hour) from the farm via Rt1, so will need to head out around 7:00 ish to meet with the Bentley's contingent for breakfast. The plan is to leave Bentley's promptly at 9:30 AM for a ride to Mt. Agamenticus, about 24 miles (about an hour). After some hanging out, ooh-ing and aah-ing at the mountain, we head back to the farm on two lane roads. Mountain to farm is about 57 miles (90 minutes). That puts us back at the farm around 1:00 PM ish. A little later depending on traffic, rest, or gas stops. There will be an hour or so for socializing while the lobsters are cooking.
This ride seems a little longer than we have had in the past, although last year's ride was close.
I would like to find a way to have some internet link for folks to ask questions and confirm attendance so we can plan food requirements. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Price this year will be $25 for one lobster, with an additional $10 for each additional lobster desired. The menu will include lobster, steamers, corn, potatoes, beverages, and whatever other sundry items from the farm we can pull together.
For those who don't fancy seafood, you may bring whatever you like for grilling. There will be a grill available for those who wish something other than seafood.
If you are returning a second, third or fourth time, welcome back.

If this is your first Social, we can’t wait to meet you.
