With the rally date approaching here are a couple of events that have been planned.

Friday: Guided ride to the Kansas Motorcycle Museum located at Marquette, KS.

Saturday: Sidecar Games and Show & Shine will be held in the town of Council Grove, KS. The public will vote for “Best of Show” award at the Show & Shine.

The shower facilities there are some of the best I have ever seen. Sounds like another good rally coming up.

I really like the idea of the Show & Shine being in town this year!

So who's coming?
Sent registration in yesterday, room reserved for a long time now and looking forward to seeing the usual suspects again.
This is always a fun little rally at a pretty location there by the lake.
The towns around there are very friendly towards us on our odd machines and I think those who have not been to the Kansas Motorcycle Museum will be pleasantly surprised at what they see there!
The roads are smooth and pretty empty of other traffic and the Flint Hills have a beauty, especially if you get out and take an evening ride south of Council Grove, all their own.
Hope to see you there.

For us cowardly motel dwellers, which motel? The Cottage House looks like it has gone seriously upscale since I was last there.

Most of the usual suspects that normally pre-register have done so. Looks to be a good turnout.

Al,

While we camp for the rally, and as such can't recommend a motel, I do know that most folks stay at either the Cottage House in Council Grove or the Millstream Resort Motel in Cottonwood Falls, about 20 miles south of Council Grove. Cottonwood Falls is a pleasant ride thru the Flint Hills from the rally site.

Pretty sure Millstream is full...was a couple of weeks ago for the rally weekend anyway.
Have some friends meeting us for dinner Friday night (and want to see all the sidecar rigs on Saturday!) and they got the last room, at least at that time - worth a call I suppose.
That's a busier area than folks imagine with the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve nearby.
See you all at the rally site Friday morning - looking forward to the ride to the museum.

It was a fun & friendly rally - as it always is.
Nice change of pace to have the sidecar games and the show & shine there in town - that was a wonderful location and I'm betting it will get more and more popular with the townsfolk as they know about it next year and the next after that.
Can't beat the entire group having a Police escort through town.....;)
Great job to all the gang who made it happen. Was good to see old friends and make a couple of new ones!
Hope to see you all again next year - and hopefully a few new faces too.

Dean is right. The JC Memorial was a great rally and some of the friendliest folks on the planet were there. I was really impressed with how nice everyone was. It's obvious that these folks are comfortable with each other and equally open to new folks. I felt right at home. Thanks guys!
