Daytona 2+2 $4000 IL
@miles-ladue I do have some interest. My real sticking points are that I dont know how the f6b compares to the f6 in terms of how smooth a ride it is, but as it is basically a goldwing I assume it would be just as good. And the looks. Call me shallow but the pipes and chrome of the 90s valk hitting some old hotrod vibes do it for me so well it trumps most other considerations and It might be better for me to just get one without a tub and enjoy it as commuter.
@thane-lewis I really havent given any of the more street/sport bikes the time of day in my considerations aside from a couple 'local' sellers that have a 1300 kawasaki attached to a kenna 2
Another option that I like just off looks is the 2000s rocket 3. Missed the shot at the warthog but pretty sure these things could tug a 2+2 without dropping to much gas mileage

Dork, to quote actor Woody Harrelson in the movie Zombieland, Double Tap, " No No No No...NO !"
To quote Strother Martin in the movie Cool Hand Luke, "what we have here is a failure to communicate"
All this points to: The Honda F6, and/or F6C...is NOT the same as a Honda F6B, and that F6B is not the same as a 2014 Honda Valkyrie.
Three completely different motorcycles.
1996 to 2005...Honda F6, technically called the F6C...a 1520cc engine with 6 carbs, available as a standard model, or the Tourer model.
2013 Honda F6B...as in Bagger.....a Goldwing 1832cc engine, fuel injected...and was available for several years, eventually becoming the Honda Goldwing...NOT to be confused with the Goldwing TOUR.
2014 Honda Valkyrie....available ONE year only...was essentially a Goldwing 1832cc engine ...fuel injected...in a cruiser style.
Dork, the bottom line is that if YOU really like the style and lines of a 1996 to 2005 Honda F6C Valkyrie, then that is the bike you should buy. There are a very few available with sidecars already attached to them, but many more available as a 2 wheeled motorcycle, so...as you have already surmised, buy a 1996 to 2005 Valkyrie, ride it as a solo bike, get used to it, then decide if you want to add a sidecar to it.
If I were you....I would buy that Champion Daytona 2+2 sidecar, store it in your garage, then find the 1996 to 2005 Valkyrie that you want, ride it as a solo bike for THIS year, then have the Daytona 2+2 sidecar attached to it this next Winter, so that in Spring 2027 you have a completed sidecar rig.

@miles-ladue Sound advice, with the only problem being that riding it solo for a year bit. I pretty much don't go anywhere without the dog so I'd be doing all my trips in the truck instead of on the bike. I'm thinking priority is going to be getting hold of a good prebuilt rig that can run a 500 mile weekend trip and then get the unpaired valkyrie to drive to work on. Best bet looks like the 2014 since everything else I would still need to run around for mounting hardware which I could also wait on if I just got the 2+2 in the garage for a future project
See, all we had to do was have enough conversation to narrow the options!
Dork, I like the way you think! I hadn't remembered the Rocket III and, YES, it is a phenomenal tug for a good size chair. Now if we could get Dana to pop in here for his review of the Rocket III rig, the world will become balanced!
Illegitemi non carborundum est!
I'm on my second Valkyrie (a 2003). The original Valk was made from 1997-2003 in Marysville OH (same plant as the Gold Wing) but with a different engine. The 2004 was the Rune, one year only, Gold Wing 1832 cc engine. Looked like something Buck Rogers would ride. It re-appeared in 2014 for one year and again had the same engine as the Wing.
Mine has the six carbs (1520 cc) and drinks gas accordingly. 30 MPG, 5.3 gal tank, so range is not great. No fuel gauge either! It's a well balanced machine, plenty of power and grunt. And makes lovely noise.
I'm considering adding a hack to it, which explains why I'm here!
Lots of good reasons to use a Valkyrie for a tug. Welcome Road Going Scholar!

I too must WELCOME Road Scholar 1841, and tell you that currently there are two very good sidecars available that would be ideal for attaching to a 2003 Valkyrie.
Question: is your 2003 Valkyrie a Tourer model, or the standard model?
Question: is the significance of the number 1841 because you are 185 years olde, or because you have added a supercharger to your Valkyrie and are now producing 185 horsepower from that engine?
Now, if you were a "Rhodes Scholar"...then you and I would have things to talk about. 😉

My 2003 Valk is a Standard. I believe they stopped making the Tourer and Interstate in 2001. It is Black - the only color available in 2003.
I'll add a pic once I meet the minimum # of posts.
1841 was the year Poor Paddy went to work on the railway!
I'm all ears when it comes to what sidecars might work. Thanks for having me!
