Dork, 2 notes on this '95 Wing w/California Friendship lll sidecar rig.

1: it appears that the front end has not been modified, as in trail reduction, so....plan on an additional $ 2,000.00 for the trail reducing triple trees, with installation....all in.... will cost $ 2k.

2: the price is already too high, so when you add in an additional $ 2k, you will be at $ 15,500.00 for this rig.

Is this White whale worth almost twice the price compared to the same year and model of '95 Wing sidecar rig that Steve Ives is selling, just because this White whale has 30k miles, and Steve's bike has 145k miles..... knowing that these bikes are good for 500,000 miles ???

This California Friendship lll sidecar is a very nice sidecar, much larger than the Champion Escort ll that is attached to Steve Ives bike, so it really comes down to...is it worth $ 7,500.00 more money to get the larger California Friendship lll vs the Champion Escort ll ???

@miles-ladue If I was looking at it for  myself I would get Steve's and that red dakota 2+2 that came off the 92 gold wing. Then I got 2 tubs and a bike for 1k less.

Oh, Dork......that red sidecar is a DAYTONA 2+2.....not a "dakota".

You are making my head hurt 🤕

However,  you are right....and it would be a very smart move....to buy Steve's 1995 Wing w/Escort ll sidecar rig  AND buy that red Daytona 2+2 sidecar,  as the mounting that comes with that Daytona 2+2 will work on Steve's '95 Wing.....and then it will be easy to sell the Escort ll sidecar that you removed from Steve's '95 Wing.

Those Champion Escort ll sidecars are in demand,  as a mid sized sidecar,  so very good resale value.

@miles-ladue I got it right in the posts where it matters. Right now my head is on math and seeing if one way flights and ground travel can be kept under 600 to make it cheaper than if the rig was shipped

Okay,  you want math ? Let's talk math.

Buy the Champion Daytona 2+2 sidecar for $ 3,500. It's advertised for $ 4,000., but cash is king, and probability the seller will take $ 3,500...or less.

Buy Steve's 1995 Wing w/Champion Escort ll sidecar rig for $ 8,000. It's listed currently at $ 8,500...but I will throw $ 500 at Steve, so you can buy his rig for $ 8,000.

Sell the Champion Escort ll sidecar for $ 2,500.....all day long....that is a very realistic price for that sidecar.

Do the Fly 'n Ride for...$ 600.00

Your total expenses for all this is: $ 12,100.

You recover $ 2,500. from the resale of the Escort ll sidecar.

Net cost to you is: $ 9,600.00

You get a road ready, road proven bike, plus the larger Champion sidecar,  all-in, all done,  back at home....for $ 9,600.00

You're Welcome 😊

@miles-ladue That is a thing to do but I personally think having the 2nd high end side car would be worth more than the 2500. Like right now I am sitting around not riding with my brothers dog because I do not have a second sidecar to slap on the shadow. Also I may want to forcibly attach a third wheel to my brothers bike when he's not looking.

The expense not discussed is getting the Champion Daytona 2+2 sidecar from Indiana to your house.

If I were in your shoes....and I realize I am not.....I would drive a pickup truck to Indiana, pick up the Daytona 2+2 sidecar, put it in the bed of the pickup truck, then drive to Chanute, Kansas, rent a car hauler trailer from U-haul....drive to Steve's house in Buffalo, Kansas, put his '95 Wing sidecar rig on the U-haul car hauler trailer, then head home.

That would probably take a full vacation for me to pull off as opposed to the fly and drive over a long weekend or shipping at convenience. Money wise the actual transportation is roughly the same as my truck gets sightly better gas mileage than the rig. At least until putting the car hauler on it.
