I found my airhead (r100 w/ ural sidecar) hard to steer until I put a leading link on it.  If you're shoulders aren't what they used to be in the 90s, think a while before going vintage.

Again, I won't drive a SC with a drum front brake but as I said in the Guzzi post there are plenty of folks that do.

From your posts it seems you are attracted to vintage looking rigs.  I get it; I am too.  It's hard to find that kind of character and style in a newer rig.

That said, consider what you want it for.  If you plan to ride, ride, ride and be the traveling man, go with something more modern that has a steering modification (raked forks or leading link), decent brakes, and baked in reliability.

If it's an around the town, smile maker, go vintage - especially if you like talking to random strangers.

Good ones come up.  The hardest part is waiting until they do.
