World War 2 sidecar rigs....what are they?
Hey;
I've seen books detailing the history of Harley's, Hondas, even BMW's....and they purportedly cover all the twists and turns in a brand's history.
It looks to me like, for history, intrigue, politics, war, utility and just plain absolutely interesting, a book about this bike's history in its many iterations would be a moto-bestseller!
And Jim, looks to me like you write plenty fine for such a task....

I'm new to this forum, this thread is real interesting!
There is a book about the German/Soviet motorcycle connection, and the history of Soviet motorcycles, it is available at the author's site: Molotov Cocktail:

I did not realize Zundapp is really heavy looking body, it is .... if you do not use the same engine / chassis, its pretty amazing that two different pieces of equipment is completed with 70 percent of interchangeability of parts. Well, even within the same manufacturer makes a different model is often interchangeable parts anywhere!
Sahagan,
Don't mean to shanghai the thread, but I don't know how to get to your profile. Have you read Robert Raymond's Out Of The Fiery Furnace, The impact of metals on the History of Mankind! It has been used as a text in places but is a greaat read if you like the history of iron ore.
