I'm thinking of selling my sidecar but I have no idea what to ask for it, please don't suggest asking for what I've got in it, nobody would pay that much for a sidecar, even if it was made of gold. Basically it's a /2 with an R75 (W/R90 jugs). It's got 3 15" spun aluminum race car wheels, disk brakes, /5 final drive. The motor was rebuilt by professionals less than 10K miles ago, I've recently redone all the bearing in both SA's and the SH. you can see it here.

Text says selling a sidecar. Text describes a motorcycle, somewhat but no mention of a sidecar.
Is this a sidecar outfit you have for sale? A sidecar? A beemer?
If it's a sidecar outfit, you might want to list it in Complete outfits for sale and give Year of both sidecar and bike, MFG of car (looks like it may be a sputnik), condition and maybe a couple of digital pix.

Couldn't find any pix by using your link.

You might want to check out yahoos "slash2conversion" site, or whatever you call it. Hate to tell you, but if the paint is REALLY nice, I'm guessing the bike is worth maybe $5K. This is a niche machine and will be very hard to sell. The last time I sold a sidecar I had a nearly new Steib TR500 and it took me 2 years to $2500 for it. A lot of folks SAY they want one...

It's a mostly Beemer attached to a Jupeter sidecar, about 1972 (both). The link works ok for me, maybe you encluded that extra "/" on the front, SB http://home.earthlink.net/%7Ewiseoleowl/sidecar.html#Baby%20pictures
Truth is, I'm not selling it yet, I was just wondering what you guys would think it was worth.

You're giving a lot of old Beemer guys a heart attack with that bike, ya know. I'd like to know what you did to the front and back to get those huge tars in there. Tars is Carolina talk for tires. Anyhoo- I kind of like it. On the market- somewhere- I'd guess the whole get-up might get somewhere between $4500 to $6K.

OK,
The /2s stopped in 1969. there is a R75/5 in '72. Last year middle book price is $2,175.00 for a stock one. Concours (1) condition, $5,600.00 and $1,400.00 for a rat.
1984 (last year) Jupiter, current book average retail is $230.00.

Stock always sells better on the open market, more so if it's a special interest model. Modifications are money spent, not necessarily an investment.

If you really want to peddle it, your best bet might be to pick a reserved price you can live with and go E-bay. If it doesn't move above you're reserve, go to plan B.

My $.o2 worth.
/2's are going up in Value. The Jupeter sidecars are also going up in value quite a bit. I think if it looks good and works good and you are not in a hurry for a quick sale you could be looking in the $8-9K range.

Jay- it's my understanding he's got a conversion rig with R75 engine that has 900 jugs. The bike has been highly modified to accept really small but really wide tires. Red tank, chrome fenders, etc... There is a link with some pix around here somewhere.
