I am interested in gettign into the sidecar world and need some advice on whihc way to go. I will primarily use the rig in town to ride around with my dog. I am looking at a 2005 Vespa PX150 I can buy right and then install the side car. I have also heard a lot about the Ural's. For my type of in town use is the Vespa sufficient or is it better to go with a bigger rig like the Ural or others?

since i didn't have any options, at the tyme, & a URAL just flung itself in my face, that's the way i went

as of now, i've logged over 4k klicks on her & the CHILI, the wonder monkey(in training) & i are having a ball!

i know folks w/ several kinds of rigs, that have dogs for their monkeys and they all have fun

if you do end up with a sidecar rig, be prepared to add extra tyme to every trip you take

the URAL folks refer to this situation as UDF(URAL delay factor) and the GAWKERS n TALKERS are perpetually stopping for a look and a visit

factor in a dog & you've become a roadside attraction...

whichever way you end up going, ENJOY!!!

Before you buy a bike, make sure that you can get a sidecar for it. We have done one Vespa 150 in house, Not hard to do but not some thing we offer a kit for. For me, I would want to go with some thing a bit larger so that if you did want to head out of town you will have the power to do so, you will also have a bike with larger brakes. If you buy a bike that sidecar kits are made for then it is no problem putting it together. We make about 300 different mount sets. One way I often like to go is with a Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter. This is a nice around town bike due to its automatic transmission but it also has the power to haul the sidecar down the freeway.
Give me a call if you like and we can go over your options.

Where are you? Before you invest in a sidecar rig it might be a good idea to see one up close and ideally get to drive it a little. Tell us where you are and we may find a local who can give you an introduction.
