Utopy: Comon benefit win's over selfishness/ written 1887 in Boston

Dear friends,
I am a convinced person, that there is no casuality, Destiny is writen before we even get born.
This week something strange happened and strenghened that theory.
The widdow of a good austrian friend gave me all his study books and lots of german books.
Within these was one extremely old one that caught attention.
Written by Edward Bellamn in 1887 in Boston, USA.
Translated into German and printed in 1890 in Leipzig.
The title is:
"A Backview - from the year 2000 to the year 1887"
Although I hadn't read old german bookwriting for decades I got caught and read all this weekend until I finished it.
Its a strange utopy that to nowerdays americans for sure is as unbelievable as to those times when it was written.
The story is that in 1887 a thirty year old, rich man falls deeply asleep while his house burns down. In the year 2000 his cellar room is found and a doctor wakes him up.
While he recovers his memories he, Mr West, discovers that in the 1950ees happened a revolution that converted the personal values he was accostoumed to into the opposite. As he wakes up un 2000 the world has completely changed:
No money is used any more / no private sales are seen anywhere / no competition / no violence nor crime / no police / no jails / no lawyers, only very few judges / no wars / no army / no poor people / no shopping stores / no egoism at all in the people
In stead he finds, that men have public schools until 21 years old / 4 years traineeship until 25 years accourding to the abilities / everyone has to work for national industrial duty until 45 year old in a military like organisation / people get pensioned at 45 years for to enjoy the rest of their life or benefit others by voluntary club work.
Everybody recieves the same wage on his "creditcard" in what ever profession he works at. / the not used credit vanishes every year / heritage is only used for personal and sentimental belongings. / all ground, capital and buildings are state property and fall back to the state / invalids have the same wage as everybody else because of his nature as "human" / one governmental district warehouse fulfills the "distribution task" for goods / house work is not necessary / public launderies and feeding houses take over the unnessesary household work / ..... the 40 states governments got substituted by the federal government that centralized all planification for industrial production and distribution. / people think only in the comon benefit and never think with selfishness.
Main idea: eliminate every squandering / help your next
When I started to read I couldn't believe that this was written by an US-american because all it sounded just as an utopy as Lenin later planed to realize in the Sovietunions. We all nowerdays know that it did not work out.
In the story Mr West compares the 1887 social system with an Omnibus (remember they were torn in those days by horses) where the rich ones try to keep onto their seats on top of the bus and not to fall down while the poors pull the bus through the mud.

Viewing my own life. i'd say the clossest to this utopy I have lived was my childhood in the 1970tees in Westgermany when the "soziale Marktwirtschaft" social market economy was still functioning under Mr Helmut Schmidt and I went to a humanitary, old language elite college. Since Mr Helmut Kohl things went backward and when Mr Ronald Reagan invaded Grenada my faith in international peace broke completely.
I'd never think centralized planificated economics would be something to wish as I have seen the results in Eastgermany only 2 1/2km further east (800m of my last flat).
After 24 years living in Costa Rica I have seen the perverted change in this country. When I came here in 1988 it was a poor country with 40-50 years technical delay but with a "social conscience", now in 2013 it has nearly caught up the technical delay to the first world, but turned into a country of "total egoism".
I guess it is time to go back to the utopy of 1887 and try to plant the wish in everybody to put his grain for public benefit.
If not we will soon get into serious trouble.
Aren't we in serious trouble for decades yet?
Just a thought of somebody who's grand grand father was just 12 years old when this utopy was written. and who's grandfather founded in 1927 a company to eliminate squandering in heating and climatisation.
Sincerely Yours

and here the english text I got a few minutes later from another forum.

I am amazed how much noise that book must have made in those years now 126 years ago.

Today I was able to look through all the boxes of books and university papers. and found another strange book.
The statutes of the German Freemasonic Lodge and its subinstitutions from 1910.
For sure that will become an interesting lecture. All persons I have heard talking about freemasonry alway surrounded that organisation with secrets.
Now I have something to finally get a first hand insight from 103 years back. Perhaps now I will understand what all this talking is about.
