USCA Store Is Seeking Input

It is time to restock the USCA store. I would like some input from members on what they would like to see available for purchase. This may include clothing, and nonclothing items. Items should be capable of displaying the USCA logo, or should promote sidecarring in general. All suggestions are appreciated.

There's a store? Where?
I've always felt the current design is a bit complex to make a decent embroidered patch. Perhaps simplifying by losing the full fairing and SC top. Maybe more of a vintage look like in some of the old ads where a guy is riding with the wind in his hair and his apple-cheeked girl is waving at you. Or a racing look. Add a touch of excitement. www. and .com above and below with SIDECAR in an arc through the middle might make a cool patch. Maybe some "wind lines" to denote speed/movement. T-shirts with Hal or Claude looking at a '70s muscle car w a thought balloon above that says "I coulda had a V8", USCA in the front left breast. Hey- in the ad biz this is called brainstorming, OK?

Through the front door, left at the end of the front hall, first door on the right past the fireplace. The light switch is on the left inside the doorway.
You do make some valid points regarding the suitability of the logo for embroidery and silkscreening. I'm not in a position to change it though.

At the first Keentucky rally the members present were given a choice between the USCA patch and voting on a new design. By a show of hands, the USCA patch was favored by at least 80% of those present.

Where do I go to see what the patch looks like?
I don't know if Bob got any examples in bookstore supplies that were sent to him. It is printed on the cover of the latest Sidecarist in a reduced size. It's a 3" x 3" triangular shape, a tourquoise background, the motorcycle and sidecar have black, silver, red, and yellow within its design. hope this helped.

I want the patch...how often is the sidecarist published and how do I get a copy?
The Sidecarist is a bi-monthly publication and it is a part of your membership in the USCA. A form is available here at the website.

Just fill it out and send our Secretary a check and your copy will magically appear in the mail.
Just in case anyone is not aware of it the USCA logo is a picture of Hal Kendall's Laverda/ Watsonian outfit. Hal is cofounder of the USCA along with the late Ed Johnson. That rig was originally a left mount sidecar and was converted to a right side mount when Hal moved to this country. It was also a test bed of sorts for quite a few sidecar inovations. So, the present logo has quite a bit of significance and history to it. These facts alone had a lot to do with the vote mentioned to change the logo being turned down.
If it means anything In addition to t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats it seems that coffee mugs and stickers are the big sellers in the ISOK store. See: http://www.cafepress.com/isok

I have 100 patches on order, which should be ready this week. I can scan one when I pick them up, so you can see the artwork.

No, Really. Does the USCA store have an on-line presence? I looked around the site and I couldn't find it. There should be a link on the navigation bar at the top of the home page just to make it easier to find. If there is no on-line store, there should be. You'd sell a lot more stuff that way.

Dave, Bob has things ordered to replace the inventory. As soon as he has some things to sell you will see them here and in The Sidecarist. It has taken some time to have special order items produced.
As I don't know what Hal looks like, I must reserve comment on the accuracy of the logo design.
Is it possible to set up an online store?
This way anyone and everyone can make an easy purchase.
Seems to be working well @ ISOK cafepress.
I think we should keep the origninal logo.
That does not mean that we can have other logos or themes to diversify.
Harley Davidson makes alot of $$$$ with this idea.

Yes, Lenny, this is possible, and has been discussed. I would expect to see a means of online purchasing in early 2006, if things go as planned.
