Ural T or Enfield Bullit 65?
46u, I was writing my question at the same time you were giving an answer. Thanks for the info.

I looked at the Royal Enfield and I guess being I have been working on motorcycles for over 42 years none stop I notice things other do not. Take a really good look at the welds on frame. I have seen some I would be scared to ride around the block. In my opinion for about $1,000 or a little more the Triumph Bonneville is a much better value. All so from what I have seen have a better resale value as well.
With the Triumph you have disc brakes front and rear, on the least expensive one which is the one I would get you have mag wheels so you run tub-less tires. It has a LOT more torque and HP so it would be better for a hack. I have been told with the Enfield as I did a bunch of research on them including going to many Enfield forums with out a hack a good cursing speed what 60. I had a good friend that had the Bonneville sorry to say he got hit in the rear and was killed but he had no problem cruising at 70 or better. Now put a hack on both and see what the cursing speed would be.
This is just my opinion but if I could afford another bike the Bonneville would be one I would consider if I could keep the rig I have now.
46u, I agree with you about the Royal Enfield. I thought the quality was suspect as well. They look great but it's not for me. I would imagine the reliability is very poor.(JMO). Speaking of the Bonneville, have you seen Kawasaki's W800? It's a Bonneville look-alike but it's not imported to the U.S. I wish it were because I would buy one.

Jay no I have not seen it but most of the bikes from Japan are good ones. They are now using a lot of parts and some bikes that are made in China. But look at all the damn stuff we get from China here in the US which does not make me happy. I try to find things made in the US but very hard to find them not but when I do I buy US not matter if it is a little more.

Jeff,
I couldn't agree more. It's a sad thing. It's getting hard to find anything that's NOT made in China. What will we do when China decides to collect on our debt? I do agree and buy American whenever I can. I wish there was an American motorcycle that was like a Triumph, Kawasaki or Honda. Harley and Indian are not my style.
