Just had a 2014 Ural come in that's being sitting more then run, 244mi still looks like new. Went to pick it up front rim and sidecar rim both broken apart. Date code 2013, was told spoke were to tight, It hard to believe it took six years for the rims to break. The factory must of over tighten them. I would like to find good replacement rims.
That is hard to believe. With only 244 miles on the bike it wouldn't seem likely that an owner would have over-tightened the spokes.
I don't know much about Urals. Can you lace a rim from another brand onto the Ural hub?

My 2018 Ural has well over 2000 miles on it and has not displayed any issues whatsoever. I would also assume the the previous owner maltreated the copy you're considering.
Your rims might fall under this recall https://motorcycleviews.com/recalls/rec13v507000.htm Recalls are usually forever so while this is an old recall, it should still be valid. While your bike is a bit new for the recall, it does not mean that it might not have been made with rims date coded for the recall. As such, Ural should take care of this for you.
