unit link forks
Hi members,
I have 1999 Kawasaki ZG 1000 Concours and I would like to install leading link forks. Are they interchangeab rom any metric bike? Does the kaw have a special steering head Any info would be apprciated. I hope to line up a sidecar and unit link forks.
Thanks,
Demoe
Unit is a brand name made by Unit sidecars in England. Each leading link front end is specific to the bike it was made for, they are not genetic. They use the original bikes steering head. We also make leading links as well as sidecar mounts however we have no production mounts for your bike nor do we have leading links. We have built sidecars and front ends for the Concours in house. If we were doing it in house we would more then likely go with what we call leading legs. Leading legs bolt onto the bottom of the fork moving the front wheel forward reducing trail making for lighter steering while costing a lot less then a leading link front end.
The reason we have not tooled for mounts for the Concours is that the front lower mount is very fussy to get to fit up under the front plastic with out making a really ugly mount. As there is little demand for this mount we only build it on the bike.
