I have a Harley bike with a harley sidecar. My wife would rather ride behind me than in the sidecar. How much weight should I put in the hack to do this safely?

I carry three 25# shot bags under the seat of my empty hack for highway tours.

What I carry is two five gallon plastic containers of water, could even do three if you want. That's about 40 lbs a jug. If you pick up a passenger just empty the plastic jugs and store them away. If you loose a passenger I can usually find a way to fill them on the road. I seat belt the jugs in the hack so they won't roll around and shift the weight.

I do not carry any extra weight on my 02ultra with 06 HD sidecar. Put a cooler in it with ice and cold drinks.
