Jay, I have a T100 / Velorex rig. What is the advantage of your triple trees? Is it just easier steering? or is there another benefit to them?

just trying to understand.... Stan

Much easier steering. Also makes any front end shake you may have easier to control.

Jay's right, as usual but there's another important point. Solo bikes that run conventional front forks are designed to accomodate stress in just one direction. Think about it, even when you are leaned way over the stress is applied to the sliders in a straight line. They never see and side stress. In a sidecar application, your front end has to deal with side loading every time you turn. Leading link suspension is designed to accept those loads. Sliders will work but not as well and occassionally they suffere from "stiction" when stressed and will fail to compress properly. Leading links are an overall better suspension for sidecars.

Yes, a leading link is a better set up however with stock sized tires on the front even if you go with a flat profile sidecar tire for more traction on the ground the larger diameter fork tubes that have been the trend for about the last 20 years seem to work just fine with just changing out the triple trees. Triple tree's keep a more or less stock look to the bike and are significantly less money. The also do not require a different front fender so you need not worry about painting a front fender as you would with a leading link.

What is the installation cost, and how long do you need the rig. I have an 09 T100 w/Velorex, too.
