Trailer hitch with sidecar

I have a Goldwing 1500 and a Escort side car. I'm thinking of adding a mini camper trailer. Any suggestions on the trailer hitch? Should it be mounted mid way between the sidecar and bike? As with most sidecars you take up the majority of the lane so placing a hitch directly behind the bike would possible put the trailer over in the other lane or my wife in the sidecar in the other lane. Either way, I'm in trouble... Any suggestions are appreciated.

I had the trailer between the bike and sidecar. It was actually connected to the sidecar frame. It put so much stress on the upper bracket, it broke and sent me and my family off the road. I now haul it directly behind my gold wing. Yea, I'm a little wider, but not too wide.

How on earth would it stress your upper mount?
