Trailer for GL1500 & Escort Sidecar
Can anyone recommend a trailer to pull behind an RV for our Goldwing 1500
& Escort sidecar. I know I can buy a car transport trailer but looking for something more designed for bikes and sidecars.
Pace, Wells Cargo and Haulmark make covered units that will work well with with sidecar outfits. Most have something around 7'x12' with side door and drive up ramp.
Haulmark also has their Low hauler. Specifically for bikes and rigs.

Here's what I have.
The bed measures 6'11" X 12 feet. I originally bought it to place a single bike crosswise in front and the sidecar rig up from the back. I find, though, that I never use it. I did haul my daughter's rig across the state for her and I have used it to move furniture, but not enough to justify owning it.
Contrary to some people's beliefs, These tailgates do not affect handling or gas mileage. I pull this with a Chevy Trailblazer and get 22.3 mpg without the trailer and 22.0 with it fully loaded. And I've never had a problem with crosswinds.
It sold for $1295 new in March of 2003. If someone makes me the right offer, they can own it.
I live in Houston as well... If you go out I-45 North, a few miles past Loop 610 there are 3-4 trailer mfgs on the right. I visited each of them a couple of months ago looking for a trailer to pull behing my rig. I think you'll find several trailers that would work well for carrying a sidecar rig.
