It is with a heavy heart that I make this post. This is a copy of the post that I put up on the Wildguzzi web site. I'm sure there are many people on this site who would want this information.

I wrote this post yesterday afternoon but was asked not to post it until today.

This is very difficult for me to tell you about, but here goe's.

We had a great BBQ at Jake & Laura's this afternoon. After the BBQ was over Jake planned to lead a ride east of the Corbett area, east of Portland. We weren't 20 minutes into the ride, when I came around a corner & Ed Taylor's sidecar rig had collided with a flat bed 1 ton truck. No one was in the chair & I don't think he had enough weight in the sidecar. According to another club member who witnessed the accident the chair came up twice in a right hand corner, and he crossed the center line and struck the side of the truck. After a fair amount of time with lot's of great people working on him, they life flighted Ed to the hospital in Portland. I just learned from Oregon MGNOC Rep. Gerri Jenkins, that Ed didn't survive his injuries. Ed had been a very active participant in club and MGNOC activities this past year. Our club has taken many rides together since I've been involved, but this is the first accident that we have had during a group ride. Ed was a great guy and will be missed greatly by everyone. Rest in peace, Ed, and thanks for brightening up everone's life.

Here's a link for a great picture of Ed taken by Gary Jenkins at the No Wrong Turns Campout.

Ditto Claude's sentiments. I met Ed at the NW Regional rally in Hayden Lake last June. A memorable fellow.

This is horrible news. I had met Ed several times at Yakima and at the First Ever. He will be missed by all.

Do you know if Ed was a veteran? I am the chaplain of the Siskiyou Chapter of the Oregon Veterans Motorcycle Association. We ( the chapter) are located in Medford, Or. If he was a vet. I can put the family in touch with the Portland Chapter who will help in many ways. Pleas advise me by return E-mail. Thanks & God Bless - - -Scott
