I took my Champion Legend sc to Les Schwab this morning to get a car tire put on it and was told that they don't even know if there is a tire that will fit it. It is a 130/70 16" tire but they say they don't have one that is narrow enough. Do any of you know a car tire maker and size that will fit on that rim?
I also have been under the impression that 15" car tires are a no-no, but 16" are pretty much a rim match to a mc rim.
A call to Champion is in order. The Legend has more of a motorcycle tire than an automobile style tire, doesn't it?
The Les Schwab locations I have visited (and National Tire Warehouse) have a nifty application that they use to find a tire with similar dimensions to the one you have. I think it is on the Internet too, but I can't remember what it is.
Do check out Coker tire (www.cokertire.com) and noodle around there.

I'm running the Twins from Jay all around on my rig currently but plan on going to car tires when these get to the point they need replaced so I watch these threads with interest. My son has worked for Les Schwab for quite a few years and I've picked his brain a bit but haven't got down to the nitty gritty of choosing exactly which tire will work.
Look for a 500X16 or 550X16
