Very nice looking job!
Hi Sven Peter,
The disc brake set up on the hack has it's own master cylinder mounted next to the bike's rear brake cylinder. Both operate off the rear brake pedal and are well balanced making for very nice stopping power without pulling to either side. This works particularly well off road or in deep gravel, etc. It was a costly item as the installer had to locate a similar wheel and brake as the one on the bike, then custom fabricate all the bits for mounting, etc. I'm glad I did it but it really slowed the job down.
Regards,
Larry
Thanks Bob!

Hello Larry,
Going slow on certain jobs is often faster and better on the long term. You will definitely have a good pay off from that break job. Its good to have same break system and pedal transmission on back and sidecar.
I just remember my awful times with mechanical drum on the bike and hydraulic drum on the sidecar on my first MZ rig. Including once in an icy night full failure out on the front wheel with somebody in the sidecar. Only the back break was working And I was too fast....
Now with both mechanical drums on the Jawa/Velorex I feel much happier and have perfect control. (that in one occasion already saved my bones...Left bend in heavy transit and a deep ditch in my track that I couldn't see from the main road....I would have loved to see the other driver's eyes, but was way too busy that moment balancing between the cars, the ditch, breaks and the lifted back wheel.)
Well, still Wendy is without Jolly Roger2 and still I didn't find a new working horse, but Friday early morning hours I'll be hopefully back on the mountain roads.I got vacations from my family approved. (still don't know if I better should take off the sidecar mounting bases (hit already once the ground)
Best regards
Sven Peter
