The "Hal Kendall - Excellence in Sidecarring" Award has been established to be given out annually as a token of appreciation to an individual, business or association that has shown exceptional effort to promote the sport we all love. The winner of this award will be one who has exhibited exceptional, unselfish and unparalleled dedication to our sport by the promotion of all sidecarists in a positive manner.
The Award carries the name of a man who has dedicated much of his life to the sidecar world.
Dr.Halcombe Kendall Ph.D., affectionately known as 'Hal' by many, carries unsurpassed credibility within the sidecar world, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Kendall is co-founder of the United Sidecar Association, many times past President of the USCA, Author of numerous manuals and technical papers related to sidecar setup, theory, operation and safety and has served as one of the founders and directors of the original Sidecar Safety Program. He is also the founder of the International Laverda Owners Club, based in the UK, and the Association of Jensen Owners, USA, indeed, a man of many talents.
It is a privilege and honor to announce that the first annual Hal Kendall Excellence in Sidecarring Award recipient will be announced at the upcoming ISOK Sidecar RON-DEE-VOO to be held August 4-7, 2005 in central Pa.
