Guys,
Just got Texas ranger sidecar for my honda valkyrie and will start installing it next week.
I have done lots of reading, some good info on this site.
Does anybody have any recomendation
as far as Lead, Toe in.....
I know is different on all bikes, but if somebody has similar setup, i just want to know where to start.
I guess goldwing setup with similar 165lb sidecar would work too, goldwing and valkyrie very similar weight.
Thanks a lot guys.

David

To start with 1/2 " for starter on toe in. I think I'm going to 5/8 " so I'm pushing and pulling with a lot strate rideing with my America.Rudyr

I have a California on my Valk and started with a half inch then had to fine tune the toe as it pushed left. I used a Dauntless sub-frame and was unimpressed with the hole alignments and none of the bolts and nuts were even close. The written installation instructions were, well, weird and no drawings or photos. I installed a 205 car tire and have over 20k on the tire with very little ware. Fuel consumption is usually in the 25mpg range. Wasn't much better before the sidecar. This was my first set up and I did quite a lot of experimenting with the sidecar wheel lead and sidecar/ bike separation. Overall, I found the rig handled better with the sidecar wheel at 13 inched in front.

Oh, and watch out for the low speed (< 20mph) wobble, it's startling. Haven't worked on that yet, so if you find any solution, let me know?

I have been experimanting with the setup for a week now and I think I got it to my liking.
I also have 205 tire on the back.
Only 8.5 inch lead, 3/4 inch toe in. Handles good. I do not have any wobble as long as I hold on to bar at list with one hand, but thinking to install
steeting damper anyway.
What tire presure do you run on your tires?

You've got the wobble controlled, why slow the steering down with a damper? It just makes the rig harder to turn at slow speed.
