Hi Guys,

I hope you're all planning to come to the rally in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

When you are riding in South Carolina you must wear a helmet if you are under 21 years old. Yep, 21! Interestingly, the law reads, "It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of twenty-one to operate or ride upon a two-wheeled motorized vehicle unless he wears a protective helmet of a type approved by the department. . . .". Does that mean that we don't need helmets on our three wheelers? Anybody local in S.C. to comment on this? I'm betting that the local LEOs will interpret the law to include sidecar rigs.

While in Georgia you have to wear a helmet and eye protection, period. Best advice is be prepared, bring your "hat" and comply with the local laws.

So far as I know there is no helmet law applying to adults in SC. or Fl. But there is one in GA where I live. Regardless of the law I think it foolish to ride a motorcycle or a 3 wheeler without a helmet and protective gear. And it is
a good rule of thumb to always be a little afraid of the traffic around you. Become too self confident and a Cage may well nail you.
