"Smart Barn" sidecar enclosure
Just thought I would share this cool little enclosure I came across for a sidecar rig. For those that don't have a big barn to keep your rig warm for the winter..lol Real smart idea they came up with.

This is a real cool setup. I think the Ural pictured was the result of one of the guys on these sidecar forums (IMWA, RI or USCA) who bought the shelter for his rig. After they saw how well it fit (as if by design), they used his rig in the ads.
I'd love to have one of these but they're a bit too rich for my blood.
(Silly priorities like kid's college funds and gas in the tank....)
I just replaced my cover 'system' after 6 years:
Rig: 1 new nylon UTV cover and 1 new heavy duty 15X15 silver tarp.
Solo: 2 nylon cycle covers (1 new) under same HD tarp.
(Bought an extra tarp as they only last about 2 or 3 years. Also bought an extra solo MC cover as the outer one is about 10 years old...)
This system works pretty well for me. The bikes stay out on my gravel driveway for 10 months out of the year. Being Russian, they'd rather be out in the weather than cooped up in the workshop. They give me dirty looks during those 2 months when I'm too wimpy to ride them. Just kinda shake their heads at me when I come in the workshop, then mutter something in Russian under their breath...All I've ever been able to discern is '...soft American...'

I just liked the design/great idea, yes it's out of my budget as well.
When I was young, our neighbor had a fabric shop (high end fabrics) she use to see cool things in the department stores, make her own pattern and sew it up herself, I learned from the best....lol Great ideas, go home and do it yourself. Shame on me, but on my budget copying a designer dress for a cocktail party, making it with better quality fabric for less and have it fit me was a good thing. Gotta be creative these days as well, funny how the budget has to stretch further the older ya get, dannnng it. Okay, I did splurge for a Daytona though.....lol
They are in my budget. I just ordered 2. A Barn model for my T100 & Sidecar and a Tourer model for my R3. At last my shop space is freed up. Interestingly, they will both be in another, bigger shelter, my hay barn. The bike barns will keep the cats off the bikes as well as bird droppings this winter.Thank you young lady.

Let us know how they work out. Lucky bikes, sad kitties lost their jungle gym

over $900 for a pair of aluminum tube and plastic [nylon]covers? for half that amount you can build a 4 sided wood or strand wood enclosure with a roof ,and swinging doors. plus have all the wall space for shelves, parts, cleaning stuff, whatever. lights also .
this goes for outside also, next to the garage or in corner of the driveway.. build an enclosure the size you need, out of plywood or particle board. cheaper and more weather proof.
Bob:Normally, my bikes stay in my heated and air conditioned machine shop which is attached to the equipment garage. Problem is, I've invested in some new machinery, basically a radial draw tube bender and a new CNC mill and it's getting a little crowded in there. I also have 2 lathes, a manual Bridgeport and a 6x18 hydraulic feed toolroom grinder in there. I'd move the bikes into the equipment garage but I'm afraid that moving large agricultrial tractors and implements around, I might inadvertently bump a bike and a little bump could cost big bucks.
If I put the bikes in the hay barn in the corner and in the bike barns, nothing can distrub them excepting me. The bike barns will keep the hay chaff off, the cats off and the bird (bat) droppings off. I have a thing for bats and barn swallows, they eat all kinds of bugs.
$900.00 is pretty cheap compared to inflicting damage on the Bonnie/Spyder which took me 3 years to build and my R3 Classic which cost just shy of 20 grand.
It's too late anyway, I ordered them last night. I'm not much of a carpenter, poor, at best. Metalworking is my thing. You can't hold a 5/10ths in wood.

But I don't want a wooden shack in my driveway!

I live in a wooden shack, also known as a 150 year old farmhouse. It's the only "shack" on the property
