sidecar to bike relationship
I just purchased an 86 electra glide with a factory sidecar. I noticed looking at the rig from the front it appears that the bike is slightly tilted toward the sidecar.
Is this an issue I need to resolve prior to riding?
Ride it and see. Harley recommends 1 degree of lean-in with no rider aboard. Depending upon your weight (Harley figures a Harley rider weighs 180#) the bike may have the right lean degree when you are mounted.
I set my rigs up at 1 degree positive lean-out with me seated and it works fine for me. I happen to weigh 180 ready to ride.

Thanks for the info. She looks more like 3 degrees without a rider. Im going to bring her back up to 1 degree, and see how she rides.
Does it pull when riding at a steady speed on a fairly flat road? Pulling left or right while cruizing is test...

check and see if it has a raked tree - if it does the previous owner many not have noticed the lean was wrong
the hd manual says to adjust so that the bike is just about dead level with the rider on the bike - the sidecar wheel will be leaning in about one degree with just the rider.
hd - hd setup is a little different from other setups - dont get confused between sidecars with swing arm wheels and the hd sidecar - its designed to have more lean out the more wt is on it...
there are raked trees availiable for hd sidecar setups - on a used rig its important to really know what you have and what it was designed to do
check vins - a factory match will have matching numbers between the bike and sidecar - its rare but if the vins match they often had different gearing and other special bits.
