Ditto! I put a good quality automobile high speed tire on the back of the bike and a new motorcycle tire on the front.
I agree with sidecarmike.
Look at claudes reponse to rims and car tires for hacks.
The proper rim and an inexpensive(good quality) car radial tire can go a long way, save money and give more stability to your unit.
Do it once and do it right.
