I've been tinkering with the setup of the sidecar. I ended up moving the sidecar back about an inch. While steering effort is still tough, it seems like it's improved about 25%. is that logical? should I continue to try moving it back further until I find the "sweet spot"?

Tuning is as much an art as it is a science. Tinker away as long as you keep the rig safe to ride. And don't forget to try the easier adjustments too, like tire pressure and shock pre-loading.
