I am searching to learn if there are still original or modern versions of the WLA Liberator sidecar? I purchased a WLA last year and would like to add the sidecar. Located in midwest, 1942 Harley Davidson. Thanks for any thoughts.

Ken Hines, first...WELCOME to the USCA Sidecar forums, the 3rd greatest place on Earth, or any planet.

The Liberator sidecar used by H-D back in 1942 has been copied, by several manufacturers, and they are modern versions of it available.

Yes, a rare original one does pop up now and then, and an Internet search might find you an original steel bodies Liberator ...most likely the "tub", or the actual sidecar body itself, which can then be adopted to a sidecar frame to complete this mission.

For more modern versions of the original Liberator, look at what TSC/DMC sidecars has in Donie, Texas, as they are a large manufacturer, and have at least one that may suit your needs.

I also believe that Champion Sidecars in So. Cal is still making their "Liberator" sidecar.

And, check with Hannigan Motorsports in Murray, Kentucky to see if any of their many sidecars suit what you are looking for.

Finally, if you can find a "LIBERTY" brand sidecar, that was made in the Seattle, WA area, they are fairly close to what the "liberator" sidecar looked like.

The "LIBERTY" brand of sidecars were very well made, and they are used ones on the market, but they are no longer in business.
