Howdy folks,
I'm a relatively new hack driver that is of recent ilk, I had a sidecar back in the late 60's but haven't driven one for a few years.
I recently added a nice 72 American Spirit, Spirit eagle to my 2007 Bonneville.

I've been driving mostly on back roads and practicing on a defunct housing development with lots of cul-de-sacs to practice turns and to get used to the rig.
It is a beautiful combination for the bike, it's light, easily manuverable and quite comfortable to drive. I set the rig up according to the Texas Sidecars specs with 11 inches of wheel lead, 1 1/4 toe in and a one to two degree lean, this rig seemed to work perfectly when on a crowned road with no pull either left or right.
The car came from a fellow up in Richmond VA, I had to drive 1300 miles round trip to pick it up but I was looking for that particular car and this one happened to pop up on a Craig's list ad.
Completely sanded the car and frame, painted the frame black, the car to match my bike, did the painting myself with Dupont Nason paints.
Sub frame came from Texas Sidecars and is a good strong setup for the Bonneville....

Your sidecar tire will last much longer with 1/2" or less toe-in. Adjust lean-out for neutral steering.
Don't forget to place some ballast behind the seat or under the frame with this weight car.

Hey Lonnie, I got the toe in down to 9/16" looks like that should do it, I'll keep an eye on tire wear, got a new tire on it so can tell easily.
Thanks again....

Nice looking out fit, with today's double wall exhaust pipes one forgets how in the old days of single wall pipes how far down they would blue, actually it was a badge of honor on a old BMW to have them blued all the way back to the muffs, autobahn guys didn't have any trouble doing it but here in the states it's/was a different story.
