Selling a sidecar

Hello All

Have a Hannigan ASTRO 2 & 2 that was purchased as a complete rig (Factory attached to 1996 GL1500SE). This is the second rig I have owned, originally got into after a divorce, and had a three year old girl who I wanted to take on rides.

I am now re-married and the girls have no interest in the sidecar. I love the bike, so we seperated the rig out. Tried selling complete, but since we are a special breed of riders, had no luck.

I have the original invoice, showing all that the sidecar was bought with, but have no clue on how to price out.
Have called Hannigan and a few shops, but mostly service the Ural's.
Any suggestions?

Try Hannigan dealers like Hamilton Motorsports in Kingston Ontario. they usually go direct to the factory but if they are aware of a used one they may be interested. That's where I bought my sidecar

The NADA Book and Kelley Blue book have used sidecar values listed. You can get a loose idea from them.

I don't know what part of the country you are in, but I just missed out on a 95 Wing/Astro 2+2 up here for $7500.

42,000 miles, very nice but an Aspencade, not an SE. When I got there, the guy said he had promised someone else he would hold it until noon. They showed up. :0(

Now a friend told me about a 95 with a California Friendship 3 and a 96 with a Champion Daytona, each in Minnesota and each for $7500. At least in this part of the country that appears to be the going rate.

Agreed. My Formula II sells new for almost $10,000 with the options I have, but I've seen three of them sell on here in the last six months for under $2000. There isn't a huge market out there for used high end sidecars.

People still remember seeing the ads in the back of Boys Life that offered new Velorex cars for $799 so they think they can buy a new one for that today.

Earlier in this thread I mentioned missing out on a $7500 Aspencade. The guy who beat me to it was from Lake Geneva.

I saw this today. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Gold-Wing-GL-1500-GoldWing-1995-Honda-Goldwing-GL1500-w-Hannigan-Sidecar-Gold-Wing_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem35a84c3cddQQitemZ230456835293QQptZUSQ5fmotorcycles#v4-30
