Seeking recommendations for sidecar
Hey draperg1, I see you have an r75/6. I traded my '77bmw r100/7, which I had for 17 years, in on this 1150rt back in '04. Now I really wish that I had kept it for an old style rig.
Kent,
That sounds great. They usually make then on order. So, that's about a month. They could have some ready to go. A Zoologist retired...sounds like we are close to the same age. I'm a retired university music professor and professional horn player. It was a tough job but somebody had to do it.
BTW, I love animals. I never miss "Big Cat Diary" every morning on Animal Planet.

Speaking of big cats, Jay & Kent, y'all need to bring the rigs down to the Rich Mountain Rendezvous near Mena, Arkansas Sept. 20th-21st: http://www.sidecar.com/mbbs22/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=11220&posts=2&start=1 and/or the Razorback Sidecar Rally near Arkadelphia, Arkansas Oct. 4th-5th: http://www.sidecar.com/mbbs22/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=11220&posts=2&start=1

Lee,
That sounds great. You might see us there. My friend Mike and I rode the Talamena drive down to Mena years ago.....beautiful! I remember we ate catfish at "The Hungry Owl" restaurant. I doubt it's still there!

Just might, but if I go that far I might have to teach my dog to drive the bike while I snooze in the Monkey Nest. 🙂
Kent,
Speaking of dogs, I am without one at the moment but not for long. They are what the sidecars are for. I'm a Schnauzer man myself but I love all dogs.

Kent, my first rig was on that 75/6 and later moved to a 90/s. Great rig for hauling camping gear but too small to satisfy the boss monkey. I will post a couple of pics of my current rigs to whet your appetite. By the way the Vulcan rig is for sale! Hope to see you on the road.
draperg1, you have some 'works of art' there. Can't wait to get my feet wet with my new outfit. Pics yes....pics are good!

All this talk about retirement is making me jealous! I'm 63 and still working (for myself - insurance agent) so some say I never worked. Oh well it affords me my sidecar addiction. By the way I still play sax in a jazz group occasionally. Hum it for me once as reading music with reading glasses sucks! 🙂
Bill,
I was getting ready to have a special pair of music reading glasses made but a health issue made me have to give up the horn about the same time I retired. I took early retirement because of it at 59. The glasses are made to give optimum vision at a music stand distance. A lot of my colleagues had them.
My brother has his own business. That would not be for me. I did work for myself in that I played horn gigs on the side (if you can call it work!), but teaching was a great job.
I do hope we get to meet some time.

Welcome to the sidecar community, hope to see you on the road!

Bob, where is Boiling Springs, NC? Live just accross the line in Martinsville, VA. Went to school at ASU in Boone. Have family in Raleigh and friends all over the state.
