Security on the Road

Hi Lloyd
thanks, your phone nr is noted. I gonna stay in Austin for a while, heard of its great music scene there. When heading towards the west, I sure cross the Hill Country and visit you there. I'm not sure yet whether I can make it for the sidecar rally beginning of May in East TX (I'd love to be there). I planned to avoid interstates (metropolitan congestions, massive vehicles, noise, speedy folks). I expect to ride only a couple of continous hrs per day (best in the morning hours, as you advice), hence I won't devour much street and it will take a while from Florida. However, the route from the Hill Country to the Big Bend is a different story: inspecting Rand McNally I see a lot of white areas as big as a small European country. I wonder whether I gonna take I-10 with more mileage per day, or whether it's a nice bike ride along 90 from Del Rio? (no concern right now, but you may educate me when I'm there).

Hi Lonnie
I'd love to ride up to Canada. I hope I have the stamina to do that coming from the Big Bend NP. Otherwise perhaps next year when hopefully resuming the travel.

Hi Bill
great gadget I haven't know of before, thanks for the tip. I checked it and I could buy it at REI in Austin, TX. Makes sense.
Something I always travel with are road flares. You can buy at numerous places with various lengths. Whatever fits in the tool box, etc is the way to go. They are invaluable for lighting fires in an emergency camping scenario.
Hi Boatzo, even in New York City you can have a shotgun for 72 hours before the bother you.

That would work for me Bob, cause I wouldn't want to stay in NYC any longer than that any way
